Annual Free Shakespeare performances for ri schools

Beacon Theatre Workshop’s PEER TO PEER SHAKESPEARE Presents:
A Midsummer Night’s Dream,
Directed by Alumna Kira Hawkridge
Produced and Designed by Jason Robert LeClair
The Beacon Theatre Workshop at Beacon Charter High School for the Arts would like to offer you a free performance and educational materials for Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Four years ago, we developed the PEER TO PEER SHAKESPEARE program by inviting schools to see our annual Shakespeare play. This year we are happy to be able to offer you two ways to experience this and both are absolutely free of charge to your school.

First, we’d like to let you know our mission.

Augment, in a tangible way, a school’s Shakespeare curriculum by sharing his plays performed for students by students helping the Bard's work become more accessible to teens through their peers.

Our goal is to provide materials for your classrooms that enhance and augment your curriculum units about the works of Shakespeare. With every performance, a school will receive curricular materials including the adapted script, written testimonials from the cast and crew, an introductory letter from the producer, exercises in reading and performing the work, and more. We would be glad to send your school a free DVD or link to the show along with educational materials and also, free of charge, we are booking limited dates to come to your school and perform live as well.

If you are interested in taking advantage of this free program, email troupe7444@gmail.com, or call (401) 671-6261 x 302 by April 9, 2020.
